Baseball pants are part of the baseball uniform worn by both professionals and amateurs. For much of the twentieth century, professional baseball players wore stockings. By the 1990s, however, most players were wearing pants with legs that ran clear to the tops of their shoes. Some players still wear traditional knee-breeches, as they are called, although most players now wear loose-fitting pants that cover the tops of their shoes with no elastic at the bottom, which are known as “pro-flare” pants.
Why They Help Performance
Baseball pants help protect your legs from getting cut when you slide, either to a base or for a baseball. They also help protect your legs from getting sunburnt.
What are They Made of?
Baseball pants can be classified according to their fabric. There are two main types: poly-cotton and polyester. Poly-cotton is one of the most popular blends of fabric because it is made from a combination of cotton and polyester, and provides the best comfort and durability available. Almost all pants worn by professional baseball players are made with poly-cotton. Polyester is very durable and perfect for adult games because they are performance based. Unfortunately it lacks ventilation, which makes polyester uncomfortable to wear during hot weather. This is why poly-cotton is preferred, because most baseball games take place during the summer when the weather is warm.
Washing and Care Instructions
Before you do anything, check the tag inside the pants to see if it has specific washing instructions. You also want to make sure you know what material you are working with (if it is cotton, for example, you don’t want it to shrink). Pre-soak the pants to remove any loose dirt. Leave them in a warm bucket of water with laundry detergent and baking soda for at least an hour. Avoid using chlorine bleach, because it could damage the material. Instead, use an all-fabric or oxygen bleach to brighten and whiten. After the pants have pre-soaked, fill the washer with cool water and detergent as you normally would. This will prevent the lettering and numbers from fading. Never put the pants in the dryer, because this may cause the pants to shrink and could also fade the colors. Hang the pants to dry, but avoid placing them in direct sunlight. For stains, such as grass, sweat, or even blood, use cold water
Who Makes Them?
There are many different manufacturers of baseball pants. Rawlings is one of the most popular brands. Rawlings was founded in 1887, and specializes in baseball equipment. Its headquarters are located in Missouri. The official manufacturer of Major League Baseball is Majestic Athletic. They provide the entire uniforms to the teams, with the exception of the hats and shoes. Other popular brands include Mizuno, Easton, and Louisville Slugger.
Price Range
The price of baseball pants varies depending on the brand and where you purchase them from. On Amazon, for example, you can find pants for as little as $10 and for as much as $70. If you know your size, you should be able to purchase the pants from an online retailer. If you are unsure, however, it is recommended that you go to your local sports store to buy a pair. You don’t want to buy a pair of pants that are too large, or worse, too small. Trying them on also allows you to see if they are comfortable, which is also extremely important.
